KUNLE OGUNFUYI
Kunle Ogunfuyi is an award-winning photojournalist and a documentary photographer. In 2005, he studied General Art at Yaba College of Technology, and in 2011, he studied Photography at the New York Institute of Photography. Ogunfuyi now lives and works in Lagos.
Ogunfuyi’s work has served as a case study for the previous year’s national uprising against the removal of subsidies since his first solo exhibition at the National Museum in Onikan in 2013. Despite participating in several group shows, his work on Nigerian protest has been shown at the Yusuf Grillo Art Gallery and the Yaba Art Museum.
Kunle Ogunfuyi is best known for photographing his subjects in natural poses. He has received numerous awards and honours for his cultural and people documentation. Notably, Ogunfuyi was named most outstanding photographer at the second Nigeria Photography Awards, as well as the Society of Nigeria Artists Pa J.D. Ojeikere Best in Photography 2009 and the New York Institute of Photography in 2011.
